Antigua and Barbuda, the beach is just the beginning
I’ve recently returned from a wonderful four‑day educational trip to the islands of Antigua & Barbuda, hosted by the Aspire Travel Club — and I couldn’t wait to share my insider impressions with you. Over the course of the trip, I met with over 20 suppliers, explored some of the island’s most desirable hotels, and experienced Antigua at its authentic, sun‑drenched best.
Blue Waters Resort and Spa - Authentic Caribbean Charm
Our home for the trip was the beautiful Blue Waters Resort & Spa, an elegant five‑star hideaway set across three pristine beaches. From the moment you step into reception, you’re wrapped in that warm, effortless Caribbean hospitality — the kind that makes you feel instantly at home.
Blue Waters offers spacious multi‑bedroom suites, shared pools, three calm beaches and warm, authentic Caribbean hospitality make it ideal for multi‑generational travel and larger parties.
Dining is relaxed and high quality, with à la carte breakfast strongly recommended (the breakfast burrito was a favourite!). Board options include B&B, half board on selected promotions, or all‑inclusive for longer stays.

Tamarind Hills — Contemporary Style & Striking Views
Tamarind Hills offers a gorgeous sandy beach and beautifully styled rooms and villas, some privately owned and individually decorated. The four‑bedroom villa we viewed featured an infinity pool, spacious living areas and sweeping views across the bay. Best suited to honeymooners, couples, or families with older children, and part of the Small Luxury Hotels group.

Carlisle Bay - A Firm Family Favourite
Carlisle Bay remains one of Antigua’s most popular luxury resorts, especially for families. The two‑ and three‑bedroom beachfront suites are being fully refurbished by October, and the newly refreshed Ocean View Suites are stunning — contemporary, earthy tones with Caribbean warmth. The beach is a standout feature, and the beach barbecue was delicious.
Perfect for families of all ages, couples, and groups of friends.

Hermitage Bay — Elevated Luxury & Exceptional Dining
Hermitage Bay is a serene, elevated retreat with hillside and beachfront villas. The hillside villas offer spectacular views and private infinity pools, while the beachfront villas boast generous outdoor living spaces with daybeds and hammocks. The four‑sided beach bar is a highlight — sushi at 4pm and happy hour daily — and the beachfront restaurant served one of the best lunches I’ve had in the Caribbean.
Rates start around £3,500 per night all‑inclusive, reflecting its exceptional quality. Ideal for honeymooners and couples seeking tranquillity.

Villa Musica - Stunning Secluded Hillside Sanctuary
This beautifully appointed 6 bedroom villa enjoys incredible views over the bay of Falmouth. It played host to our last day on the Island, where we all appreciated the relaxed and cool vibe and sense of space this unique setting gave off. Listening to chilled music, lounging on plush sun loungers and giant bean bags , sipping coktails and bubbles around the pool or eating exquiste canapes around the sunken sofas, it was hard to peel ourselves away. The most surprising element of this villa is the price. Its very affordable ..
Current availability 24 - 31 August 2026 - £12,400 villa only based on full occupancy of 12 ads / £1,033 pp - WOW!! Check out the video below :)
Essential day trips and fun to do!
The Hut, Little Jumby Island — A Must‑Visit
A short ferry ride takes you to The Hut, a chic beach club and restaurant inspired by its sister venue in the Isle of Wight. It’s already become a destination in its own right, offering fabulous food, cocktails and a vibrant carnival‑style atmosphere. Highly recommended for couples, groups, and families with older children. Pre‑booking is essential.
Catamaran Cruise — The Perfect Caribbean Day
We rounded off the trip with a catamaran cruise from St John’s, sailing along the coastline, stopping for swims and enjoying a barbecue on board. A fun, relaxed way to experience Antigua’s turquoise waters and coastline.
Rum Academy - An interactive fun experience for over 16's
Create, Flavour & Bottle Your Own Rum To Take Home! This was such a great experience where you learn in an interactive fun way. My creation is called 'Rumpage' made with Lemon, Ginger and Coconut - delicious!!
If Antigua is calling you — whether for a romantic escape, a family holiday or a multi‑island adventure — I’d love to help craft a bespoke itinerary that matches your style.
Warm Wishes Sheryl
